Guest guest
, I just joined this group and started scrolling down the messages to see which of them were of the most interest to me. I also have the body temperature fluxuation. It almost seems as if my body is the reverse of my wife and kids. At times I will turn the heat up in the house and they complain that it is already too hot. Other times I am sweating and they are covered with blankets complaining that it is cold. Also, I have found that I seem to sweat profusely while just sitting or standing around. Hubby would probably have a fit. You never know when the sweats are going to hit. Guest guest
After spending all summer with a constant low-grade fever, my temp has started to flip-flop, too. I don't touch the thermostat until I've asked everyone else in the house whether it's warm or cool or " just me. " It's always " just me. " My husband jokes that MOST people's bodies have a regulatory method of maintaining the same temp, despite environmental temperatures. My body, however, seeks to change the environment by altering it's own temperature. Sometimes a room will cool down 10 degrees simply by my walking into it! (or it will heat up, depending...) It is really getting tiresome. I wonder if this is what menopause " hot flashes " are like? --Jane > > Hello everyone.. > > > > I've noticed that over the past few months I have been experiencing > body temperature problems. Guest guest
Jane, No, this is not what hot flashes are like. I know all about that, too. I was pre-menopausal in my late 30's. The Dr.'s say that severe stress can bring it on early, and in my case, it would've been my Mom's death. When I told them about it, they said that would definitely have an affect on my body. Since then, I've had an hysterectomy. There is really no way to describe hot flashes. If I could, I would. I'm on HRT now (hormone replacement therapy), and if I miss several days, I can really feel it, and my family can tell by my 'moods', shall we say! Carol It is really getting tiresome. I wonder if this is what menopause " hot flashes " are like? --Jane

Guest guest
Have you been checked for diabetes ? I had the same problem. Extremes in temp sometimes my body was even hot and cold simultaneousely ! They tested me for early menopause but that was a no...they had been checking my sugar for about a year..turns out it was fluctuating and it just never showed up on the tests until a year later when they got a reading of 481 ! They put me on diabeta, and I excluded sugar and starch from my diet. The temp problems went away..but then I got all loopy..really sick like I was losing my mind..turns out my diabetes had gone away and was now hypoglycemic..yet I had been on the diabeta. People with Fibro are prone to these fluxes. The only thing you can do is treat them as they occur. if you havn't been tested, or even if you have..keep getting tested regularly. krystal P.S. It got so bad once..I needed a bath and was in a hurry...ran the water and it ran cold..or so I thought. I was in such a hurry I didn't care and jumped in and bathed. It was only after I got out that I noticed my entire body was burned.
Guest guest
Krystal, Yep, I've been checked through the years, but mine was definitely menopausal. After the surgeon did my hysterectomy (my uterus had somehow adhered itself to my abdominal wall), and I began HRT, my hot flashes went away. As for the temperature changes I feel now (related to fibro), it's just like I have a case of the flu, only multiplied many times over, and it only really bothers me when I am running here and there, trying to get way more done than I should. As a matter of fact, my husband can tell by looking at me when this is happening, because I act like I have the flu! He says it's weird, then he says, well, let's consider the subject matter! Ha! Ha! Hope you all have a great Sunday! Carol Re: Temperature Problems.. Have you been checked for diabetes ? I had the same problem. Guest guest
Ah I see ! I didn't go far enough back into the reading. Well if it makes you feel beter..When I get active my face flushes and I get very hot..even beading sweat. They say that is panick attack disorder due to the Fibro and nerve damage., I get that way just going into stores sometimes. You have a great weekend too ! Guest guest
I am sorry but I seem to be disagreeing somewhat with people today. I had a hysterectomy quite a few years ago and my doctor told me that even though my uterus was gone, I would still go through menopause. The hot flashes and the whole bit. I did that in my late fifties. I do have the temperature problems now and there are times when the temperature seems like either 104 or 0. Hot and cold like the faucets. :-)) Take care, Irene > Yep, I've been checked through the years, but mine was definitely > menopausal.
