Guest guest
I was doing a little research related to a case of clergy abuse here in Kansas that has a lot of people angry. A retired priest has been accused of molesting many boys over a period of years. Somehow, his lawyer convinced the prosectuing attorney that a 90 day sentence would be appropriate. There is an orgnanization of clergy abuse survivors www.thelinkup.com. Among other things they propose a 12 step group for Clergy Abuse Survivors Anonoymous. http://www.thelinkup.com/casa.html I noticed a few minor changes in the steps. Of course, Step One is now " We admitted we were powerless over the effects of our clergy sexual abuse==that our lives had become unmanageable. " And a few changes in the middle steps Admitted to our Higher Power, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. Were entirely ready to have our Higher Power remove our defects of character, past conditioning and negative coping skills. Humbly asked our Higher Power to remove our shortcomings and past conditioning, including the negative coping skills we developed to survive the abuse.
