Guest guest
Thanks for posting that Rick. I talked to Wornick too when we were doing our insurance fight. We also talked to a Lyons from wbz4. I'm sure that family will get coverage now. After Hannah's article ran front page here and WBZ made a call to BCBS that day we found out they were covering it 100% in less than 24 hrs. They don't like negative media attention, esp when it has to do w/cute little babies! And as a side note, why is that baby's helmet in the video missing a big chunk of foam????! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com --- In Plagiocephaly , " Rick " <richard.clemon@...> wrote: > > http://www.thebostonchannel.com/investigative/7539530/detail.html > > Rick > 's dad >

Guest guest
It's good to see this being dragged out into the news. Hopefully they'll be embarrassed enough to pay for the band. It looks as though a very large piece of foam is cut out of the inside back of that band.

Guest guest
Rick, What a good storie. It is nice to see that the word is getting put out there and so hopefully insurance companies will see that it is more than cosmetic and start covering the cost. I myself didn't have to deal with insurance denying coverage we have state insurance and they covered the cost. Guest guest
I saw that last night and was excited to see that the " helmet " is getting some exposure...however it is sad that their insurance would not cover it. On your question about the foam missing in the back of his head....my son's helmet had at least 4 layers of foam in it...as they get adjustments the layers come out because they grow..at one point there was no foam in the back at all....and my son's helmet at the very end of his treatment had a gap in it so the flat spot would grow into that area. That is how the Starband works. My son's was on his right side, as his right side was flat. It worked too. Guest guest
, Yes, I understand, but there is a big chunk (or at least it looks that way in the picture) right in the middle of the back of the baby's head. As also stated that's an odd place for it. > > > > It's good to see this being dragged out into the news. Guest guest
Why don't you email the reporter and ask her? They'd probably love to do a follow up story on how the initial report helped someone else > > > > http://www.thebostonchannel.com/investigative/7539530/detail.html > > > > Rick > > 's dad > > >

Guest guest
And as a side note, why is that baby's helmet in the video missing a big chunk of foam????! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com I don't know about the other companies out there but NOPCO does remove 100% of the foam from the area next to (would be touching) the flatness to allow for maximum growth in that region while keeping the band in contact with the areas that growth is being discouraged. Every band I've seen when getting 's adjusted had a foam spot missing down to the shell. I don't beleive the baby in the video had plagio rather brachie based on where the cut out of the foam was. That is my novice's opinion... Rick (3, almost 4 month old)'s dad
