Kathy - You can't be THAT hypo, you've got it exactly right :-) When we refer to an ablation or ablative dose, we are talking about the treatment dose as opposed to the " scanning dose " ( " ablate " means to remove). It's typical protocol to give an ablative dose when cancer has been diagnosed, because it's virtually impossible to remove every last thyroid cell surgically.
