Guest guest
From: The_Thyroid_Support_Group [mailto:The_Thyroid_Support_Group ] On Behalf Of SimplisticJesus I am so freaked out am I gonna die? I do notwant to die but i have this dread and i have had itfor a while. I try to do all i can but it is eitherwrong and ended up not being good for me or I do itand it does not help. I want to know what is wrongwith me aswell and why it is messed up and lord forhow long! ------------------------------------ , I think there are a lot of us who can relate to the way you are feeling. I've been feeling really lousy for at least three to four years, but I have had these mortality feelings since the first of the year when things really started to crescendo. I even had a nightmare that I was in a doctor's office and the doctor looked at me and said, "It's a lot worse than we thought." I immediately awoke with dread and fear of death. My emotions are like a roller coaster, mirroring the good days and bad days. The PA at the endocrinologist has said she no longer can increase my meds since my levels (which I posted earlier in the week) are considered well within normal range and the nodules on my thyroid have shrunk dramatically. This is good news, but I'm having symptoms that are not going away, specifically muscle spasms at night and "pins and needles" (paraesthesia) all the time, plus my hypo symptoms creep in from time to time. My PA all along has suspected possible tumors on the pituitary. When I saw her last week, she suggested it might be time to visit a neurologist. My GP gave me a recommendation, and I have an appointment on July 12th. I'm so tired of trying to fight this on my own, but I am nervous about what they might find . . . although I know it should bring relief. The doctor I will see seems to specialize in all the areas that concern me. I know it sounds silly to be afraid to learn what's wrong and relieved to discover what's wrong -- but I want my body and life back! Good luck to you . . . I hope you find the help that you need to give you peace of mind. the teawife

Guest guest
Dear , I have lots of empathy for your situation. I am 28 with lots of health problems too and it is so depressing! I'm so so sorry for everything you have gone through. It's hard to remain hopeful when many things have gone wrong and when there have been terrible disappointments. It is true too that the majority of doctors are more ignorant than helpful. It is crucial for us to take our health in our own hands. It's great that your intuition has helped you. I encourage you to listen . . . also do as much research as possible! This group is very helpful too . . . it sounds like many of your symptoms could very well be due to hypothyroidism so I encourage you to get on the right hormones. I was raised with only natural medicine and was always against taking medication but I realized that thyroid problems are very serious and sometimes natural things aren't strong enough. From the research I have done, most people feel better on a thyroid med that contains both T4 and T3 (drlowe.com is a good place to start). Synthroid only contains T4, so that is something to check out . . . also if possible have a doctor check your adrenals because they are very inter-related with the thyroid and sometimes recovery is only possible when both are treated. Also the side effects from thyroid meds are usually temporary as your body is adjusting and while you are getting on the right dosage-- it can be a long process towards recovery (I've been on treatment for 7 months now and so far I'm a bit worse than before I started, but I still believe in it --from everything that I've learned -- and that eventually I will feel better than I ever did) My best to you, Marlena --- simplistic_fantasia wrote: > My name is I live in ga i am 26 I > was told a week ago > i have hypothyroidism. Guest guest
Yes gastric and acid reflux are one and the same thing, and it causes heartburn. I had an endoscopy to check that there was no ulcer. I was given a fibre supplement to speed my digestion and this helped a lot. Anxiety can make it seem like your heart is thumping too strongly; I think most HypoT people find it hard to deal with extreme stress. There are just so many symptoms associated with hypothyroidism........ cramps, muscle twitching, allergies, tinnitus (ringing and other sounds in the ears), visual disturbances, constipation, indigestion, fatigue, pain almost anywhere, headaches, swollen joints and limbs, dry skin, hair loss, dental problems etc etc etc. And of course there is the dreadful anxiety caused by not knowing what is happening and why your body seems to be falling apart. It does take a little while to adjust to the hormone replacement. In about 6 weeks time you should be able to judge if you are feeling any better. Why not make a list of your worst symptoms and rate them 1 -10 for severity. Maybe look at them once a week and rate them again. If they start to improve you will be able to see it clearly on your chart. Positive feedback will help to ease your anxiety. --- Simplistic wrote: > gastric reflux is that the same as acid reflux? > I have the worse heart burn I have not been > diagnosed > with acid reflux but i know that is what it is the > acid comes up in my mouth sometimes i feel like > puking. also did it swell up under your rib? not a > lot > but yu could feel it? mine seems to be worse when i > am > upset. but there is not ulcer i guess he checked my > blood for that. also my neck hurts like the muscles > or > something in the front and down at the bottom of my > neck there are these lumps not huge i notice them > they > came up about 2 weeks ago, i thought they were > muscles > or something LOL but the pain in my neck in the > front > i thought was my jugular veins I thought I was going > to have a stroke LOL i could feel my pulse alot > stronger probab;y just my aniexty anyone else have > the > pain in the legs?
