Woman's search for organ ends with

Now she

was losing what her mother described as " her big sunshine smile, "

instead feeling tired and run down. When she looked in the mirror, the whites

of her eyes had turned an ominous yellow, a sign of jaundice. The itching was

internal, and no amount of reflexive scratching could relieve it.

After

more testing, doctors discovered she had a condition called primary sclerosing cholangitis. It was causing her liver to

slowly shut down, no longer filtering waste and toxic material from her

bloodstream. When the malfunctioning organ was removed, said, it was

black and hard………
