Guest guest
This actually sounds like an insect bite... I had one on my ankle when I was 16 that was very painful and grew, and grew, and grew until it actually looked like a 2 " rubber ball was stuck on my foot! I went into the ER finally to have it drained... I had an open, pus-y sore for about a week longer, then it finally healed. Have you been somewhere where you could have been bit? Bring this possibility up with the Dr. when you see him. I know it's difficult to rest with three little ones (I also have 3) but as Wendi said, a breast infection often occurs when you're trying to do too much. I have had more troubles with blocked milk ducts with this, my 3rd, and have just recovered from a slight infection. (My first ever!) I don't like using the TV as a babysitter, but in this case, I was glad for Barney and Teletubies and Sesame Street to keep my preschoolers busy while I just took a few days off. I had a fever of 102.2 on Thurs 7/13, but pain was less so I stopped codeine. I thought maybe the blister was from the heating pad or something. Then I got a sort of lump there so maybe the blister was not from heat. What fun. The fever did stop by Friday and we came home yesterday (Saturday). However, there is still a 2-3 " diameter very bright red mark, a hard mass under the mark, which has now spread under the nipple enough to make nursing uncomfortable. In the middle of the red mark is this charming goose- egg thing with a scab on it. It is very tender with a purple thing under the skin and skin peeling off it, yuck. Today, I noticed some yellow stuff coming out of the nipple and I squeezed quite a bit out, which hurt but I thought it might help to get some of the pressure off and the bad stuff out. A few times I had to dislodge little milk plugs that were in the nipple hole clogging the nipple.<<<<
