Guest guest
I just want to let all of you know that all my (our, for those of you who also sent emails on 's behalf) work has panned out!!!! I got an email today (after a missed phone call) from a woman named Candace whose office handles management for Alan , asking me to give her a call when I get a chance. I called her and she said they will have five tickets to the concert and three meet and greet passes waiting at the ticket place for us tomorrow night, AND they're sending a care package with various stuffs and autographed stuff. SOOOOOO, thank you guys for listening to me babble, giving me ideas, and to those who sent letters, also. This is going to be a most AMAZING thing for (and the rest of the family). I will, of course, be posting pictures when we get home (or Thursday morning, depending on how late it is when we get back). Love to everybody!!!!! Ami Ami Fox wrote: So, my son is the BIGGEST Alan fan EVER EVER EVER. And he's going to be at the Minnesota State Fair on August 30. But there's no way in heck we can afford tickets for us to go and take him. The following is a letter I sent to the only email address I could find on his website. Please tell me what you think. Tried to make him sound somewhat pathetic, but not SO pathetic that it sounded like I was trying to make him sound pathetic. (Did that make any sense?) Ami ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you, in advance, for your time in reading this. I am not sure who to talk to, so I'm emailing you. Maybe you can help me. My 8 year old son, , is about the BIGGEST Alan fan. This past February, two weeks after his 8th birthday, had a double lung transplant due to having end stage pulmonary fibrosis. He'd been on constant oxygen for several months, and had suffered through 8 lung collapses in a year and a half. We were informed a few months before his transplant that he also has liver disease, and he will now be being listed for a liver transplant sometime this month. We've been away from home (Black River Falls, WI), staying at the Mc House in Minneapolis for a year, now. In addition to his two major things (lungs and liver), has a number of other underlying issues. He's been signed up for Make-a-Wish, and when we asked him what he wanted for his wish, the FIRST thing he said was "I want to meet Alan !". However, we were talked out of going with that, because, we were told, sometimes celebrities don't have to time to meet the kids, or they turn out to be not as nice as expected, and either way, the kids can come away disappointed. is a WONDERFUL little boy. He's very bright, funny, loves Mr. , Toby , etc. (We always say "Little Bitty" is 's song, because he was born 15 weeks early weighing only 1 pound 6 ounces - LoL.) What I would like to know is this: Is there ANY way that Mr. would be able to meet my son, and/or for us to be able to get tickets for our family (or even my son and my husband or I) to go to his concert at the Minnesota State Fair on August 30. This would be SUCH a huge thing for him. Something he would never forget. So that you know this is an honest story, please visit my son's CaringBridge website at http://www.caringbridge.com/visit/seanfox . You can verify his information there, along with calling the Mc House in Minneapolis (specifically Carynn, one of the House Managers), and/or speak to the Child Family Life people at University of Minnesota Children's Hospital, Fairview ( is the CFL person for 5B in Children's Center). I want so badly to be able to take him to see Mr. perform, but with us being here, I cannot afford to do so. If Mr. were to be able to find a small amount of time that he could visit my son, it would be something he would NEVER EVER forget. Thank you, again, for taking the time to read this. I hope to hear back. Ami L.
