Guest guest
Tina, I am very sorry to hear of your problems....when it rains it pours doesn't. I can not help you much on the disablity for I am having troubles myself. I am only 21 and the state of Indiana doesn't see FMS as a disability. So I am fighting with them on that. However, what I was wondering if you have ever been to a nutritional specialist? I go and my ns is also an irisologist (she reads eyes) she put me on Hawthorn Berries for my heart. She said that my heart, nervous system, and immune system (obvisously since I have FMS) is completely shutting down...nervous system & heart was almost there..and of course my immune system is all ready shut down. So she told me to take Hawthorn Berries it is a natural herb and has helped my nervous and Heart a great deal. Before doing this ask your doctor if it is ok to take herbs with the medication you are on. Some people refuse to go towards the step of the natural path and that is totally up to you, but I will try to help you anyway possible. I also have depression and asthma. The depression I think is a big part of Fibromyalgia..and the reason I say this is because we all are in soo much pain that our brains eat up all the seratonion in our brains and then when it comes to from keep'n us whacky there is no seratonion left...lol thats what my doctor said, but I put it in sillier terms )~ I take Effexor XR also 225 mg. every evening. For my asthma I take albuteral, aulupent, and asthmacort. Plus a few more that have oral steriods in them, but I refuse to take them because the steroids will give you a yeast infection in my mouth..and I am just not going to do it...lol Call me hard headed...just not ready for that step....so if I can help you with anything else...or if you just need a friend to talk to please email me I will try to help anyway possible. I hope that you find comfort soon. The biggest thing you should try to do (and I know this is easier said than done) is RELAX.....take a hot bath....use rice socks...and if you are interested in some aromatherapy...I can help you there also. I can recommend plenty of pure oils you can put in a diffuiser that only cost a few dollars and sit around in your house and you wouldn't believe the difference it makes. Or you can buy a " carrier oil " i.e. (olive oil, almond oil...etc) and mix the pure oils with the carrier oil and turn it into a massage oil...which is GREAT moisturizor. ( I use the alomond oil) So if there is anyway at all that I can help you please let me know. I will try to the best I know how. If you just need to talk or need to vent ....I'm here...I hope you get comfort soon...God Bless Allicia

Sorry to hear about all of your problems. May I suggest you (and anyone else wanting disability) join the disinissues group at yahoogroups? They can give you answers much easier than most of us. I just lurk there as I haven't decided to apply yet, but they seem to know what to do to help. Darcy
Guest guest
Tina, Sorry about your recent heart problems, I can't even imagine how scared you must have been! I cann understand how you would feel when you start to have chest pains again. Maybe it's anxiety or a panic attack which I know really can't affect your heart. For your peace of mind talk to your dr so he can help put your mind at ease....It's easy for me to sit hear and say this to you but i " m just hoping to help you .... As far as SS....it can take quite along time to hear back from them you can also call the SS office and they might be able to tell you something regarding your application I know they did that for me. For your medication problem I know your dr. can help you fill forms out if you qualify and the phamacutical compies will sometimes send you your medication for nothing.....There are alot of websites also that can give you information....Hope this helps a little bit! Guest guest
: Your ideas have helped, in fact I was just contacted to day to set up an appointment for a stress test for my heart. I also got notified today that my Glucophage XR (for the diabetes) has arrived from the company at my doctor's office (1 down and hopefully 11 more meds to go). It seems some things are starting to look up finially. :>) It just takes sooooo long to get any help. :>( Now if I can just get SS to cooperate. Guest guest
Hi Tina, so nice to meet you. I applied for SSI and was approved, but yes, it did take a long time. Maybe you should call your local SSI office to check on the progress of things? I can relate to the drug thing. I take many different meds, and my husband just got his lay-off notice at his job. Without that insurance, (we just added it all up) my meds will cost me just a few dollars under $1200.00 a month!!! I'm serious! Anyway, I believe that prayer is what got mine approved. At least one thing is for sure, when they approve you, they will back pay you from the time that you applied to the date that they start your checks! That does come in quite handy! Mine came in just before Christmas year before last. It was wonderful! I will be praying that God will open the doors. However, I am learning, that He will do it in His time, not ours... You pray for my family that my husband will find a good job with good insurance, and I'll pray that you get your SSI.
