Guest guest
Hi all, I'm very excited because I finally got a letter from Aetna stating they have reversed their original denial of coverage for my orthognathic surgery!! The only confusing thing is this--the letter preapproves surgery for mandibular reconstruction and I'm supposed to have upper and lower surgery. Can anyone tell me if it's normal procedure for insurance to precert procedures separately? I'm going to call my oral surgeon's office in the morning, but I thought I might ask you folks first. Surgery's tentatively scheduled for Sept, but I'm hoping to have it in Aug or Oct due to work constraints. I don't really keep up with this board much yet, since I'm preop, but I did check out on's recent post. Man, you look good!! I sure wish I had your cheek bones!! My ortho thinks I should get cheek implants, but I dunno bout that. Sounds too risky. What do you folks think about that? Thank you to everyone who replied to my previous posts. It really does feel good to talk to people who are familiar with all this stuff. My husband gets so tired of me talking about surgery! Well, good luck to all, Becky
