Guest guest
Hi , I would venture to guess the emotional ups and downs you are experiencing right now are still going through the stages of grief in accepting that your expectation for good health has been taken away from you. Allow yourself time, and it is a normal part of the process to go back through some of the stages again and again. It just takes time to get to acceptance, but you will get there. Be patient with yourself and allow yourself to feel everything you are feeling. On the itching, you may need to have your phosphorus levels checked because high phosphorus can cause itching. I really hope you can enjoy your mini-vacation. I guess it hasn't been very relaxing thus far with relatives in and your grandmother's funeral. Enjoy your remaining time off. Guest guest
Thanks, everyone, for your condolences, it seems there are a lot of us having losses recently. My condolences to Pierre and his family as well as Ken. I can only imagine ;how it would be to lose your mother, Ken. My grandma, I actually didn't know very well except for the last year or so (it's a long story) but I was glad to be with her during that last week. My main concern was for my mom. She is kinda the one who " gets things done " for her family and she's pretty worn out. The neat thing about seeing so much family today at the funeral was to realize WE ALL LOOK SO MUCH ALIKE. I know exactly what I'm gonna look like 40 years down the road. You guys are great. Thanks again for the empathy. For any of you who I don't respond to, when it's not specifically addressed to me, you have to forgive me. I'm still trying to place several of you and your situations. AS for lab results and neph visits, I'm new to that, too. When you all are exchanging lab results, I am still not sure what the significance of all of them are, so I don't have much to say. The same goes for several of the medications that you all are on, I guess I'm not that far down the line yet. My husband and I anticipate there may be some med changes at the next doctor's visit depending on lab results. I know eventually the bulk of my discussions here will be about my kidneys, I guess right now my main problem is emotional ups and downs. When people talk about mood swings as part of advanced renal disease, is this what they mean? Am I already there or is this still the initial shock do you think. Oh, and the itching. I've been doing a lot of that lately, too. I'm paranoid it's related to the kidney disease, but it may just be dry skin. I am planning on taking a mini-vacation Thursday and Friday by myself, just to Lubbock, to the big city, for some shopping and some serious thinking about the future of my job. I am cherishing every day that I'm off. _____ *
