Guest guest
If you feel better gf, then Y go through all this medical stuff? Doreen-just scared sbft Has any one else gone through a small-bowel follow-through for Dxingceliac? Mine is tomorrow morning. I've read online what to expect fromthe procedure, but I'm wondering if any one else can tell me somethingI don't already know. F'rinstance: - how late will my hubby have to go to work?- how gag-horrific is the stuff you have to drink?- do they take precautions for the fertility-related body parts (leadapron), or do you have to take your chances in that regard?- can I wear clothes if there are no metal parts, or do I have to hangaround between photo shoots in those wonderful hospital johnies? And perhaps most importantly of all, did the SBFT give *useful*additional information to you? background: my blood work indicates possible celiac, but my biopsy wasnegative, but gluten-free has worked miracles, and each additionalaccidental gluten episode makes me sicker than before. So this SBFT isgoing to look for scalloping of the small intestine.Esther in RI

Guest guest
> > If you feel better gf, then Y go through all this medical stuff? would like to pin down if it's REALLY celiac or not, so that I can be proactive w my kids if necessary. talking my insurer into genetic testing for the kids is an uphill battle. talking my insurer into Yet Another GI test is a cake walk. Ironic, isn't it? Prevention versus treatment. Harrumph. DON'T get me started! I have a lot to say on that topic. And not all of it rational, wise, or sane. ;-)

Guest guest
i worked in a hospitol and a smal bowel or a sb takes a few hour depending on the person. and you do dink alot of the barrium and some times after you start the pics you have to drink more barrium. and yes you do have to stay there between pics. usually they have the take home part of the test you get 2 bottles of barrium drink one at night before bed then one in the morning and that makes your wait alot shorter because you dont have to wait as long. and form what i heard the take home berry kind taste the best. good luck and bring a book. cmesther_p210 wrote: Has any one else gone through a small-bowel follow-through for Dxingceliac? Guest guest
Try having lemon or lime or orange slices waiting and after each chug-a-lug, bite down on a fruit slice.
