Guest guest Posted February 9, 2006 Report Share Posted February 9, 2006 So we wen't to NOPCO Boston (children's hospital location) for 's fitting. Rusty was our tech, he was exteemly informative, patient and wanted to see that the StarBand fit my son correctly. really didn't even mind the helmet until the very last adjustment, now, he crys... I expeceted tears today and tomorrow as he gets used to it. Didn't cry a lot but it is a little unnerving... They did set the band up to be a passive band, which is exactly what Dr. wanted them to do, and they expect an 8- 10 week " treatment " based on 's age (3 months as of the 8th). I will keep you posted but I am now off to CVS to buy some Gold Bonds Baby Powder to help with the sweating and overall comfort for our son. He really was a trooper through the 2.5 hour fitting session. I feel very confident that Rusty knew what he was doing and that NOPCO will do a fine job by our son. (I know there are a lot of pro CT posters here, seems as though NOPCO did have their act togeter today anyway!) Wish us luck with the " break in " period! I'm looking forward to hearing lots of great progress reports especially due to 's age. BTW, Nobody cares what band anyone uses. If a band works great! That's what ever child deserves. It's very disheartening to hear stories of heads getting more deformed because of improper fits. I don't think there's any harm in advising parents to ask questions or relaying another parent's experience (good or bad). We're here to help the kids not any particular company. I always am amazed that people spend more time picking out a stroller than they do interviewing a doctor, orthotist or babysitter. I'm looking forward to hearing lots of great progress reports especially due to 's age. BTW, Nobody cares what band anyone uses. If a band works great! That's what ever child deserves. It's very disheartening to hear stories of heads getting more deformed because of improper fits.
