THANKS SO MUCH. Does the protocol call for ALA or R Lipoic Acid. I

have been told that the R form is better IF stabilized. Do you have any info

on

this. How much should I take?

THANKS AGAIN. The site you sent me is very good. I have very high

arsenic as well and ALA is excellent for that. Also, it says to wait three

months before chelating with ALA. It has been 10 weeks so I am not sure if it

is

okay or not.

Andy's opinion on R-ALA is not to use it. Use regular ALA.

You will find his comments either on Moria's site or perhaps by

searching the autism-mercury site via onibasu.com. Essentially,

I believe it comes down to the R form not being well enough

researched yet. Regular ALA works fine and no reason to spend

the extra money for this over-hyped product.

Always good to start with low doses of chelators - 12.5 mg is

a good starting point. Stay at this dose for a few rounds before

increasing and pay attention to symptoms both on round and off

round to evaluate whether it is a good dose for you.

Hi Bill,

Be sure to look at what other supplements in addition to ALA that you

should be taking to make chelation go smoothly. The link

gave you and Andy's Amalgam Illness book are good places to learn

which ones are necessary or advisable.

Andy's book recommends a set of basic supplements that are

important during chelation, plus additional things to take

for specific problems/symptoms you are having. The book

is a very helpful reference. http://www.noamalgam.com

I think Moria's site has some info on this, too. The basics

are vit C, E, B complex, fish oil, magnesium, milk thistle,

zinc, molybdenum. The first several of those should be

taken a few times per day (3-4).

Right - it would be best to wait 2-3 more weeks.
