Guest guest
Sherry, CT will give you instructions. We used PJs w/o collars. Other than that I don't really think there is anything else we did to prepare. My kids tolerated their DOC Bands just fine. I did take a couple nights until we had them wear them 23 hours. We wanted to make sure they weren't too hot. This also gave us the opportunity to paint. Good luck Wed. --- In Plagiocephaly , " alwell_sherry " <type916@...> wrote: > > We're getting our DOCband 2/15 and I've read alot about the babies not > tolerating the band the 23 hours a day. Guest guest
Thanks I am worried about overheating. My son is always sweaty normally and my home is really warm too. Did you adjust the baby's clothing or anything? Sherry > > > > We're getting our DOCband 2/15 and I've read alot about the babies > not > > tolerating the band the 23 hours a day. Guest guest
Sherry, Our PT recommended avoiding collars. After the first few days sweating wasn't really a problem. DS who is a sweathog was banded 2/14. I think the seasonal timing was perfect for him! He had a ceiling fan in his room. We may have used that the first few days, but I don't remember! If Chase gets warm you can just dress him in a onesie, but we never had to do this. > > > > > > We're getting our DOCband 2/15 and I've read alot about the > babies > > not > > > tolerating the band the 23 hours a day. Guest guest
Hello, Just wanted to share with you that my almost 6 month old son got his DOC band on Monday, Feb. 6th and it has been NO PROBLEM AT ALL!! He still naps and sleeps well at night and really doesn't seem to notice the band is there. We were pleasantly surprised by this, as we had prepared for the worst. Another surprise, We haven't experienced any " strange " comments when out and about. Living in a smaller town 2 hours from Charlotte I thought people would be inquisitive about the band but not so far.... OH yeah, we can already see some improvement in our son's head after the first week-- just another surprise..I hope this puts you at ease..GOOD LUCK --- In Plagiocephaly , " alwell_sherry " <type916@...> wrote: > > We're getting our DOCband 2/15 and I've read alot about the babies not > tolerating the band the 23 hours a day. Guest guest
My son got his first DOCBand at 4.5 months and it took him a few days to get adjusted it. He was fine during the day, but he had a bit of trouble sleeping. It turned out that in our efforts to avoid overheating, we kept his room a bit too cool. Once we figured out the right temperature and sleeping gear for him, he was back to normal. Guest guest
Edina Thanks I'm always worried about overheating because my baby always seems to be hot even with a ceiling fan. I think our heat it too good. I may have to adjust his clothing I suppose. Now he only sleeps with a light PJ no onsie and that's plenty Sherry > > My son got his first DOCBand at 4.5 months and it took him a few days > to get adjusted it. He sleeps in feety pj's in a halo sleep sack with a hand knitted light blanket over that. He never gets up sweaty..He will be getting his second helmet on the 23rd. I do remember the first week his head was so stinky when we took it off. But like they said he adjusted to it and the smell stopped. I use 90 volume alchohol to clean it every night.
