Guest guest
I have rosacea (according to my derm) on my forehead and scalp -- I'm bald. I have some redness, itchiness, and bumps -- not like teenage acne but just bumps that stay forever. My dermatologist has had me on Tetracycline and Novacet (Sodium Sulfacetamide and Sulfur)for the past month. I just saw him again last week and he believes the redness is less and that I should continue the same treatment. And I don't see him again until late January! The redness may be less but I still feel somewhat itchy and I have the bumps and the area feels especially dry. He also has me using DHS Zinc shampoo everyday and he suggested I try Cetaphil Moisturizer that includes a sunblock of SPF 15. I wash with Cetaphil Moisturizer in the evening too. Do other people out there use any of these products and has your skin reacted okay? I feel my derm has abandoned me for awhile and I am tempted to try some other OTC products in addition to the prescription ones. I'm not sure whether to cut down on the Novacet or use more. Is there anything that seems to work well for the bumps? A/R cream, ZincO, etc.? I'm not greatly concerned about the redness. He mentioned that I could do the laser treatment but it wouldn't help anything except the redness and it would leave blue dots for a week. Thanks for your help!
