Guest guest
Well, went to the ortho for what I thought was my last postop braces tweaking. He looks in my mouth and says, " Hm, I don't like what I'm seeing. " Then, in my mind, flashes of relapse, and surgeries and the ugliness of it all came flooding back. But he quickly clarified that I have developed a crossbite, which was common, and he is given me a couple new bands (just when I thought I was done with those darned things). So my appointment in two weeks will not be to remove the braces, but to monitor how the crossbite is progressing. The ortho did not make any predictions, which he rarely does, but seems pretty confident that we're only set back by a matter of weeks. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that bad. But it does go to show you that you can still be thrust into the realm of waiting, even til the very very last appointment. Irish!
