Guest guest
Hi ! We have a new baby, too. Gunner is 7 months old, and I was really worried he might have potential to develop some plagio or brachy like his big sister, Remy, did. I was very aggressively preventive repo'ing for the first 4 months. I found that his skull was extremely reactive to whichever position I placed him in. It made me a nervous wreck about it, having to rotate his head constantly, but so far it looks like we were able to encourage a symmetrical, fairly rounded shape. Since Remy is an active 3 year old, and I'm constantly chasing after her, we did use a bouncie on occasion with a noggin nest (Thank you, Natasha!) when he was very young to help manage both Gunner and her, etc., so I know where you are coming from on that one. We use the Bumbo in place of the bouncie now. I just took a look at your baby's photographs. I can see a " concern " area in the side view of one photo, and that's it. To me, it looks too minor to even be officially brachy or plagio, so congrats for catching it so, so early!! I think repo has potential to help. I think it's wise of you to re-check in a month's time, though. Would you let us know how the measurements go on Friday? How is her sleep position at night? Perhaps side sleeping would be a help to encourage the concern area to pop back out. If you are open to that, then nighttime won't be an issue, and will be helping tremendously! Since Cece is only 12 lbs., the summer outings seem totally doable with a baby bjorn or other front carrier. You wouldn't have to use a stroller. As soon as Gunner reached the minimum weight to use it, I started using the baby bjorn around the house while doing housework, and also outside during every errand. We've just gotten to the point where his is too chunky to be squeezed in there anymore (He's about 19 lbs. and big around the middle!) Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > Thanks Becky! I will check that out. We will wait at least a month before we make any concrete decisions. A month ago she looked great. This really crept up on us quickly. > > , Cece see KKR for PT. Hopefully can measure her on Friday. I'm more worried about her ear sliding down than the flat spot. Email me sometime! > > Natasha, The pictures don't really show it. My mom and my uncle did notice it. I'm going through that stage when I think it looks better than 5 minutes later I think it looks worse. I did this with Dane too. I took some pictures and you really can only kind of see it in one. She looks great from the top. The flat spot is lower. You can see some pictures at http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EeCNnDlw3Ysmdx The side view I took this afternoon. I put a couple of Dane in there too since he's a DOC grad. He's really into Darth (or Darf) Vader as you can see. He is so so funny. > > Thanks everybody. I do feel a little calmer. Of course that could all change in the morning! >
