Guest guest
Hi Kristi, I apologize for not answering your previous post regarding possible health concerns associated with plagio, but I see that pointed you in the right direction. Were you able to find the links to studies okay? They are all in the Links section/Plagio Studies and Research folder. Costs vary, ranging from $600 for a repo helmet in NC to over $3000 for other brands. That cost usually pays for the band/helmet as well as related appts., but there may be exceptions to that as well. Some facilities have a payment plan, etc. It would help if you could let us know where/what bands you are considering so that you could get a better idea of estimated costs. Did you discuss costs with the ortho when you made your appt.? Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > > Okay, I've made my initial appt with the orto for a week from Monday. > Can anyone tell me in the meantime roughly how much this whole process > costs? Guest guest
I am in GA. I did some research on the docband by CT, but the closest clinic here is over an hour away. We have a " Hanger " clinic here...I think that they do the starband. I have not gone over the costs with anyone....I have really good insurance (BCBS of NC), so I'm hoping that they will cover it. I'll probably have to pay my deductible though of $500. --I'm kindof confused about the appt. The receptionist said that he would be doing a scan (I'm assuming the starscan to measure his head)...so I'm wondering if I go to this appt, am I assuming that he is definitely getting a helmut? I really just want his honest opinion of whether or not he thinks my son needs one (b/c as I said in a previous post, I really don't think it's that bad...) Do they ever really tell you if they think it will correct itself on its own (or by repoing), or do they go after the $$ and tell you that you really need a helmut? -- In Plagiocephaly , " redlocks2003 " <clkline@...> wrote: > > Hi Kristi, > > I apologize for not answering your previous post regarding possible > health concerns associated with plagio, but I see that pointed > you in the right direction. Guest guest
Just jumping in to add that BCBS of NC says they cover $600 lifetime (meaning even if you need multiple bands). I am curious what you end hearing because I plan to at least attempt an appeal as our son may need a second band. We are using CT in Charlotte, so one band costs $3000 (minus the $600, of course).
