Guest guest
Zofia, Dane only had a wave on the front. There wasn't one on the back. You can see pictures of them on their website. They are all different. Often the second band looks different from the first because the shape of the head changed withthe first band. Let us know what they say. Guest guest
Marissa, With each new band that Dominick got there were design differences to fit the changing headshape and continue to redirect the growth in the right way. Very common for second and thrid bands to come back different than band one. Guest guest
Thanks Carol and . Cranial tech said many of their bands are made with one cap only. I guess I'm just panicky because it looks to us like her head shape is getting worse. Maybe it's just an illusion. It's been 3 months since she started wearing the band and I'm frustrated thinking her flat area will never get any better. I actually feel sad every time we go out and I see other babies and kids with rounder heads. With her new band I can fit one finger width between the band and her head. I wish progress was faster. I can't wait for my appointment tomorrow so I can discuss my concerns with our therapist who I'm sure thinks I'm one of her more difficult parents. Thanks for your support and advice. Guest guest
Zofia, I thought from the pictures you posted a while ago that she made some very nice progress. When her new headsicle comes in you can compare the two to see the changes. Don't worry about bugging the therapist. You're Marissa's advocate. --- In Plagiocephaly , " zofia_2005 " <zofia_2005@...> wrote: > > Thanks Carol and . Cranial tech said many of their bands are > made with one cap only. Guest guest
Zofia, Don't feel that way, the clinicians know they are dealing with the most important thing in your life...your baby. Sometimes as Dominick's head changed it would look worse and then get better, it would drive me crazy and then I in turn would I'm sure drive them crazy, lol. So see you're not alone, lol. Guest guest
Carol, you've been such a great support. Our PT had to cancel today's appointment because she's been sick with the flu. She already cancelled an appointment we had 3 days ago and rebooked for today. At any rate I wouldn't want us to catch the flu from her. It's just a little disappointing to have to wait. I noticed Marissa is developing a new problem. She has another ridge forming behind her left ear to the top of her head. I knew this band was tighter than the old one in that spot because it left a red spot on her which originally had to be shaved a bit. The other side of her head is smooth. The front cap also poses a problem with redness and needs to be shave a little too. I can't wait to finally be done with this band. I can't help but feel that the band has caused the ridges to develop along these suture lines. I know I'll likely never know the truth about it. My only hope is our next baby due in June won't be born with torticollis or develop plagio. Sorry for being such a whiner but I do get a little down about Marissa's plagio and tort. Thanks for listening, Zofia > > > > Thanks Carol and . Cranial tech said many of their bands are > > made with one cap only. Guest guest
Zofia, During the course of Dominick's treatment we did go through a period in band two I believe it was that he was ridging up along the suture lines, but it did go away. It was really more fluid buildup than anything and a clue that he was getting ready to make another big change. Funny thing is that even after graduation when he bagan a big growth spurt he ridged up in the same areas and when I talked with the clinicians they said that it where the inutero aspect of his plagio is involved. It did smooth out again. Because his plagio developed in my tummy his skull is deformed and wants to grow at an angle from right behind his ear upwards. I carried Dominick very low and in my hip during the last couple of months of the pregnancy. Does any of this sound familiar? Maybe we have similiar kids, lol. Do you know if her plagio started inutero? CAROLG > > > > > > Thanks Carol and . Cranial tech said many of their bands > are > > > made with one cap only.
