I hope this is OK. I see my husband just sent this. He is a System's Admin for a large company. I guess there are some really real threats this January, so PLEASE don't open anything you get via the internet. Unless you know a website, don't go there.

TIA,

& Mike

Subject: Protect IT! A New Microsoft Windows Vulnerability

You may already have read or heard about a new Windows vulnerability discovered by Microsoft in the last few days. Microsoft is working to release a patch for this vulnerability on Jan. 10.

However, follow these guidelines until a patch is deployed:

Refrain from accessing personal e-mail accounts, such as those on Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL.

Do not download or install patches from the Internet on your own.

Do not open e-mail attachments from unknown sources.

Do not click on Internet links sent to you from unknown sources.

Be extremely cautious in browsing the Web. Limit your use of the Web.

However, if you are using an approved instant messaging client, do not accept file transfers or click on Internet links from unknown sources.

Suspend Internet search engines until a patch is deployed.
