Rejoyce,

I just wanted to let you know to be careful with the Zatarain's rice mixes. A while back, I checked virtually every box of rice mix in our grocery store (including several boxes of Zatarain varieties) and NONE of them were gluten free. I am pretty sure they contained wheat like all the others. There are many varieties so maybe you did get some that are gluten free but I would call and check with the manufacturer just to be sure. I know it is overwhelming and frustrating in the beginning trying to find things you can eat but it will get easier.

Pleasant Shopping Experience

My dh watched the kids and I went to the store by myself, I'm tired, not all the food is put away yet! I looked at all kinds of foods andall kinds of labels. Thanks for the mention of Cocoa and Fruity Pepples. The Malto MealFruity Pepples appear to be GF, but not the Cocoa MOM. The real brandof Cocoa Pepples appears to be GF.Several Tai mixes appeared to be GF, so I'll give them a try. I alsobought some rice noodles to try.I found Zateran's rice blends to be GF as well (or at least appear to be).I was looking for quick side dishes that would add flavor to ourfamily meals. I think I succeeded.I also was able to find several soups. I feel like it was a good shopping trip. I can't digest labels withkids. I usually only have the time with them to varify something isstill GF and move on.Some products had the new required labeling, others did not. It onlyhelps immediately eliminate those with wheat. One must still read thelabel carefully for Rye, Barley and Oat.Rejoyce
