Friday is my 3 week anniversary, and the last few days I have been

feeling awful.

1. The scale says that I am gaining weight, so I must be retaining

water.

2. I have very little energy, which I suppose should be expected on

my 300 calorie diet.

3. Today, I got a new sensation in my stomach. It's either a very

intense hunger (so intense that I would call it painful) or an upset

stomach. It feels like something is burning a hole in the side of my

stomach. Ulcer? I haven't been taking my Zantac pills because

crushing them makes it impossible to swallow them. I decided I

better take it today, though, and simply cut the pills in quarters.

4. I'm also getting some achey muscles for no apparent reason.

How much of sounds normal to you? I have already called my

nutritionist about retaining water, and she agreed with my

diagnosis. I suppose I'm in hibernation as I'm between 2 and 3 weeks

out. Although #3 & #4 concern me a bit, I just hate calling the

doctor and acting like a hypochondriac. I do have an appt next

Wednesday, and I think maybe it can wait until then.

Yes, the instructions were to crush the pills. This is to help you

absorb the meds properly. Did your doctor tell you that it's okay to

take pills whole at 2 weeks out? We have been told over and over

again that we need to crush or take liquid forms of meds. The people

that I know who are taking whole pills are about 6 months out.

I can honeslty say with the exception of 1 pill which was probably the sixe

if my stomach. I took all my pills whole. I just dipped them in my yogurt

and took em.

Donna,

I, too, also take many medications including capsules. My pharmacist

went

through my list of meds and said which ones could be cut and crushed. All

my capsule ones are opened and the medication from them is mixed with

non-sweetened apple sauce to swallow. I do not swallow the actual capsule

containing the medicine. This has worked out just fine. Just a little

preparation of meds needed. Sally
