Guest guest
Balitmore, is surprisingly friendly. I live and work here in Baltimore. So, let's see. On the quick service side, you can go to Chipotle in the Power Plant complex on Pratt Street. Then there is Five Guys Burgers and Fries, in the Pratt Street Pavillion of Harborplace (hopefully you haven't been gone so long that it pre-dates Harborplace!). If you travel over to the Canton area of the city, there is the Austin Grill and Outback right next to each other. Both have Gluten Free menus. In the Mt. Vernon section of the city, there is a new gourmet pizza place called Iggies. They have gluten free pasta and are working on a pizza dough. Maybe it will be ready by the time you get here! If not, I went there on Friday and spoke to the chef, who says he has a good friend who is gluten intolerant. He walked me through the entire menu and told me what was safe in each item. If you have a car, and can get to Columbia, there is a P.F. Changs, which is very friendly to Celiacs, and they also have a quick service Diner called Pei Wei, that also has a Gluten Free Menu. They also have one in Towson. Donna's cafe, in the University of land Hospital downtown will make a gluten free pizza also, if you call them ahead of time. That's all the verified safe stuff. Of course, there are many restaurants in the Inner Harbor that will cater to your needs if you ask the server. There's Morton's and Ruth Cris steak houses that could do a steak or fish for you. McCormick and Schmick's has a ton of seafood dishes that can be made gluten free. Finally, there is a Whole Foods within walking distance of the Inner Harbor, that you could go to in a pinch. That's all I can think of right now. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. paul. P.S. When are you coming to town? It so happens I work for the Orioles, so if you are here during Baseball season, let me know! > > Anyone have any suggestions for eating in Baltimore, I am going to a > conference, staying at a hotel on the harbor. Guest guest
You take a risk anytime you go out to eat. Having said that, Chipotle seems to be a much lesser evil than most other places. At least there, you watch them put together your food. You can literally see most chances of cross contamination. Plus, I always get a bowl, so human hands never touch the actualy food. As I said, it's always a risk, but Chipotle has always been very kind to my stomach. paul > > > > > > > > > > Anyone have any suggestions for eating in Baltimore, I am > > going > > > to a > > > > > conference, staying at a hotel on the harbor.
