Guest guest
You know, anytime we lose someone, paramedic or otherwise, it breaks my heart. No matter if the cause was natural, sickness or work related. But the post below made me think, if anyone in my department passed away tomorrow, I would have fond memories of our conversations, our laughter and the time I had to spend with them. I could spend hours revisiting the jokes, the stories, the deep private conversations. More importantly, if *I* passed away tomorrow, I know that they would be aware of how I felt, how much their friendship and guidance meant to me, how much the laughter would often fill voids in my life, how much I appreciated them standing beside me through the last tumultuous few years. I know they understand that sometimes I am not the best at saying, 'thanks', but I am really good at showing my appreciation. Same too with many people I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet off this list, and throughout Texas while on my many endeavors. A beautiful woman once told me, " Friends are the family that you pick. " (Maybe I should have married her) Nice to know that I have a lot of family around...and I may not say thanks, or give compliments often, but when I do, it is heart felt. OK, enough sappy stuff, I have an alternative to the SoP to finish soon. Mike From: Holliman Jr >>I will miss her >>smiling face and her conversations. It is a great loss.
