Welcome to the list. It is rather quiet at the moment as it usually is on

weekends. This is a good list. The people on it are friendly and

supportive. Please introduce yourself.

Take care,

Irene

irene, this is pamm, I recently got off anit-depressent Effexor and had a

hard time getting off. I've been off for 3 weeks and started back being

depressed and having anxiety attacks and the pain is worse, I just wanted to

ask your opinion should I go back on? Is there a anti-depressent just for

Fibromyalgia? I did not like the Effexor. I'm having really dizzy spells

since I've been off. What are you taking. I need something to give me

motivation , right now all I'm doing is laying around the house and crying.

Please reply. Thank You

Pam... Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is , and a fellow

FMSer. I sincerely empathize with what you are going through. Perhaps I can

make a suggestion that has helped me.. Have you tried using celexa? It's one

of the newest SSRI antidepressants, and has far less side effects that the

others. Also you may want to look into using Amitriptyline(Brand name >

Elevil) It's a trycyclic antidepressant used in the treatment of chronic

pain and insomnia. My physician has put me on both, and aside from the

initial sleepiness I had from the Elevil, I find that this combination does

help. Additionally, a TENS machine helps with the pain as well. I hope this

will be of some help to you.

,

Oh dear. I called you a she went I sent out notice of you joining our list.

I am sorry.

I use Elevil with the medications I take before bed. It is to help me sleep.

I have had a sleeping problem all of my life. I had to get fibro to get

some sleep. I do not have a good sleeping pattern. I wake up feeling like I

never went to sleep. Plus the fact that I have pain during the night and

either I wake myself up or my husband does and I take pain pills.

Take care,

Irene

Thanks for writing, it really helps to know there are people out there like

me. Yes I've tried the Celexa, but I can't remember how it worked on me?

I'll ask my doctor he will probably have it in my files. I'm going to the

doctor in the morning so I'm doing lots of research on all medicines.

Sometimes we can help ourselves by doing research on the internet better then

the doctors can. Too bad the Internet can't prescribe medications. THe

elavil, I've tried before, but I didn't like the Zombie like feeling I got

the next day any suggestions? I want to take it as long as it helps with the

depression the pain and the energy. Yes I have a Tenze unit and I've used it

for about 6 years, I haven't used it in about 1 year, I run out of the

sticky pads and forgot how to get some more and didn't want to fool with it.

How do you get yours? My best thing was going to the Chiropractor and using

the Ultra sound and the massages and the adjustments. But the insurance

wouldn't cover it. That's usually how it goes. Thanks again Pamm

You often get the zombie feeling for a while when you start a new medication.

However, I take Elevil before going to bed to help me sleep. When did you

take it?

Take care,

Irene
