The IKEA, some department stores and the West Edmonton Mall here in Edmonton both have parking for "Expectant or New Mother's", it's a blue sign with a white stroller outline. I think it's great, keeps us from having to walk through the parking lot with toddlers. Of course anyone can park there, it's not enforceable like handicapped parking but it's a nice thought. Don't EVER feel bad about using it, it's there to keep your little ones safe from too much traffic :-) Michele So Blake and I just got back from a small outlet mall here in Tucson. (TheFoothills Mall for those of you here). I was about to park the car when Inoticed the spot in front that I almost pulled in to had a sign forexpectant mom parking. Where was this a few months ago when I was pregnant?;-) So I drove around to the other side, expecting the same sign on theopposite side, but instead it said "parents with strollers parking." I havenever seen or heard of that before, but I took that opportunity to parkclose to the door. Blake likes his stroller now so I figured I could parkthere as long as I put him in it. Shopko (used to be Jack's) is one and although I hardly ever go to the store I definitely appreciate the spaces. Venture (closed down now) also used to have them. I wonder how we go about letting our city know we like and want to see more of these............ BTW, I've noticed that these same places also have spaces for " senior citizens " , not handicapped, just of senior age, which I think is nice too. I've never seen these parents parking, though.
