Guest guest
--- My levels were 3 1/2 times upper range. I started on 1500 urso 4 years ago and after 6 months they had only dropped marginally. My wife's 'Natural' Doctor (formally MD) told her I should be taking Milk Thistle. I'll back up and say that I asked my Hep if he thought MT would help. He said it could -- that it certainly would not hurt. Right from the start of the MT my Liver hurt for almost two days. (toxins being drawn out???) After that it stopped. I went to my General Doctor shortly thereafter and asked for a blood workup and it came back about 100 lower. Did it take that long for the urso to start working? Or did the MT have something to do with it? I can't say. I will say I'm still on both and I'm currently only 50% higher than the top of the range. > > > Stuart (Va)small duct psc 2001

Guest guest
Hi a, I have been taking URSO for 2 years now and my liver enzymes have lowered to the in range concerning this timeline and held. It has for sure worked on me with 1500mg per day ( 3x500mg daily). Now that I know the answer to that, I have one more for whoever feels like replying. One thing that has bothered me lately is where my liver enzymes are at. They are still elevated well above normal (AST, ALT, GGT). I have been on the high dose of Urso for 3 years (1000 mg 2 times daily). My enzymes have remained elevated at about double to triple the normal levels. When I started on the Urso, my enzymes were up to 6 times the normal levels, but I was also pregnant at the time. As soon as I delivered, the enzymes came down to where they are now. I started on Urso while I was pregnant so I don’t know what improved my enzymes – the Urso or having my baby. I guess what I am trying to ask is whether or not the Urso brought these enzymes back to normal levels in anyone. a, 30, dx PSC ‘03 -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.
