Is it worth buying one? I eat a lot of pasta and it is do expensive. Thanks, suzi**It's certainly worth asking for it for Christmas. My in-laws always ask me to write a list. One year, unsure if I really wanted anything I asked for a pasta maker.

**They are a lot of fun to use but messy too. You really need space AND a good drying rack. I can't see making fresh pasta all the time. So make it, dry it and store or freeze.

**It was pretty hard for them to find, surprisingly. Walmart only stocks them at this time of year, they said. They ended up getting a really nice machine, all stainless steel, at a high end company for $72. That was more than I wanted them to spend.

**Anyway, if you have your eye on one maybe someone will give you a gift certificate to that store? [if you celebrate Christmas] If not you'd have to make pasta about 25 times to pay for the machine I have. I haven't used it that much b/c of a small kitchen. I think if I had more space I would make it more often b/c it is fun. Also, I can get rice pasta pretty cheaply.

Be sure to follow the machine instructions exactly. Mine needed to have dough run through it several times to be sure there was no grease still in the rollers. And if it isn't dried perfectly it can rust.

Good luck,

Dawne
