Guest guest
Hi Becky. I got my preapproval letter from BC and it only listed upper so I called the office and was told that I had been preapproved for both but BC only list the primary procedure on my letter though their letter listed both. I bet its the same thing your ins carrier did. Guest guest
IF you dont mind me asking, how long did it take for the insurance to preapprove the surgery? I have the same insurace as you.... Guest guest
Mine was BC/BS of Alabama, a group policy with generally quite good benefits, and I have no complaint against them in this matter. They approved the first request, submitted probably in April a year before the surgery, for a precertification ruling. We had to resubmit just before the surgery, as the precert was good only for six months, but they also approved it again quickly. My company's insurance changes happen in June, early June. I cannot tell you how many nightmares I had between late May, when the approval came through for the 26th of June, and the time I heard that we would indeed be given the option of keeping the same policy. I was terrified that they'd change carriers on me and I'd have a battle before me. It didn't happen, mercifully. Guest guest
I got approved pretty fast--couple of weeks. I called my oral surgeon's office this morning and the office manager will have to call Aetna to find out what's going on. She said Aetna usually preapproves all procedures in one letter. Needless to say, I'm a little nervous. I should know more on Friday. By the way, what are you having done?
