Guest guest
We had pretty positive experiences when out in the public. People seems to be a lot more educated now then they did 4 years ago. Here are my 2 odd ball stories. When Dane was banded I was at probably the rudest mall in America. There was an older man w/o a nose sitting on a bench. He was alone so we sat next to him. I'm sure it was a sight. A noseless man sitting next to a banded baby in a place where 75% of the patrons had every kind of implant, nose job and butt lift imagineable. The oddest thing happened to me in Cece's last days in the band. I was in a parking lot putting her in the minivan. This woman started yelling at me about 40 feet away. Then she started sprinting after me. It was kind of scary since I felt quite vulnerable putting Cece in the car. Luckily the woman was about 60 and weighed about 100 lbs. I probably could have taken her down while holding Cece. Anyhow the woman comes about 6 in from me and says " I need to know why your baby is wearing that. Did you drop her? " I explained the band to her. She said " It's just amazing what they can do! " Then I laid into her telling her I felt being approached in this manner was hostile and rude. I'm sure after that tongue lashing she would never do anything like that again! Mom to Dane (4 yo) and Cece (13 mo) DOC Grads
