Audrey,

I am sorry to hear more bad news regarding your situation, but I am

glad that Dr Palter is still trying to seek information about you and

possibly still thinking he might be able to help you in some way. I

just wanted to let you know that I am so glad you are happy with

him. I am one of his patients as well, and I can not believe how

wonderful and persistent he is in his work. He is continually trying

to find better options for people with difficulties relating to

infertility. I am so glad I found him through this group. I can

only say Thank you again and again to Poly and to everyone else who

had worked on this site and supports this group.

THanks again everyone. Have a good weekend.

Audrey,

I am sorry the frozen egg idea did not work out. I am sure that if there is a way, Dr. Palter will find it! Hang in there. You are so strong. I remember when we first spoke! Somehow you will have a baby soon!

Hello allI went to see my hematologist on wednesday. She said she believes she could get me through the surgery/pregnancy. But childbirth would be to risky. She said she has never seen anyone like me. She said that they currently have test for approximately 60% of clotting disorders and the other 40% they just don't know. She believes that there is so much that is still unknown about me and recommends that I should always be on blood thinners. My history also speak volumes to her.She called Dr. Palter while I was there but he was not in, and she would be away until monday. It was discovered by Dr. Palter that my homocysteine was high, which can also cause you to clot. Thank god this can be treated with folic acid and vitamins. She suggested that I adopt and went on to tell me how fulfilling it is. She said she likes me a lot and don't want me to die and leave a child without a mother. She introduced me to a doctor she works with. A single male that just adopted a child. By the way, the reason she does not have any children is because she waited too long and is too old now.Dr. Palter called tonight. He tried to call Dr. D back but could not reach her. I told him she was in Europe. He believes she went to a big hematology conference. He agrees with dr. d that childbirth would be "catastrophic".He said he spoke to numerous hematologist about me and they are stunned. They too believe that I make have a disorder that can't YET be identified. They including Dr. Palter have treated women with my known blood clotting disorder and they go on to have children and live. Dr. Palter asked them to inquire about my case at the conference. they will all be speaking and asking questions about my case at their conference.Dr. Palter wants me to get a second opinion: he said he is "looking for the right hematologist". He wants to see if perhaps there is a treatment somewhere., I asked him if I could have my own egg/s retrieved with IVF meds. He said no. I would still need an iv to retrieve the eggs and would have to be off of blood thinning meds even longer that if he did my as surgery. No frozen embros. I am not sure what will happen but Dr. Palter is terrific. He is the first dr to mention a possible treatment besides blood thinners. For anyone thinking about seing him, he is great. As you can see he really goes the extra mile. Given my medical situation he could have just washed his hand of me BUT BUT he did not. I think that tells what kind of a dr/man he is.Audrey
