TOM AND JERRY

1 whole egg, separated

1/2 jigger Jamaican rum

1 tsp. confectioners' sugar

1/4 tsp. powdered allspice

1/4 oz. brandy

Mix together yolk of egg, rum, sugar and allspice, then add white of egg which

has been beaten to a stiff froth, and brandy. Divide this equally in two Tom and

Jerry mugs. Add 1/2 jigger brandy to each. Stir piping hot water or milk into

each mug and top with nutmeg.

I'm not much of a drinker, but this actually sounds pretty yummy. Not quite

sure about the raw egg, though.

Tom & Jerry

<G> this lady reports to having a s/l Tom and Jerry drink late at night to

help her sleep. Is this correct? I have never heard of this before.

I've heard of Tom , vodka , etc., before.. I wonder if it's a

version of that with a different mixer or something. Anybody know of a

bar/mixed drink site?

Each time I read it, I want it. I am glad I don't have the ingredients on

hand. The part I would not like is beating the egg whites etc. I wonder

what this drink would cost at a bar? Sounds exotic so probably lots of

money. Maybe when I go to NY, If I go, we will stop and have one (hee haw.)
