Guest guest
Good Luck! You know that's just how I felt until about two months before my transplant...I thought this is so surreal...I can't really be sick, I feel too good. But then it happened, like they said could happen, I got so sick. I mean REALLY SICK! Looking back, it made me stronger, and made me realize how much life I was missing, but if I could do it again without ever having to go through that, I would. You're fortunate, and I am so happy for you! God bless you and your family!

Guest guest
What a blessing to be able to have a sister waiting to donate a kidney. She is a very special woman! I am very glad you will be able to have a transplant before you need dialysis. I want you to know that we will be praying on Wednesday for you. Please let us know how you are when you get out. God bless you and your sister this coming week especially. Guest guest
Bonnie: I got my kidney from my sister in December, and would be happy to answer any questions. Here's a couple of interesting notes about your message. I looked into it, and after a transplant you CAN still be an organ and tissue donor. I carry a donor card, and as my neph and tx team told me, let the medical professionals decide what is reusable. Since the future recipients would be on the same or similar meds, I guess that makes sense. Transplant patients can also give blood 12 months post surgery. My neph said if my hemoglobin gets high again, they would probably want to take a unit of blood anyway. With the sever blood shortage here, I can understand using that too. Bonnie Duran wrote: Wishing you the very best regarding your transplant next Wednesday. We will all be praying for you. Perhaps for the benefit of some of us neophytes, you could share with us what you have to go through regarding the preliminary transplant workup, and regarding your sister. I am nearly totally oblivious to the protocols, although ironically enough, I have been on the donor list for bone marrow and " everything else " , (at least prior to Ig A diagnosis). I kinda doubt I'll be able to donate anything now but who knows. Again, take really good care of yourself, and if you have a minute, jot us a little journaling of your (and your sister's) pre and post transplant experiences. Thanks!
