Guest guest
Thank you all for your replies to my questions. We found a great OT with prior CT experience who works at the Miami Children's Hospital (Louise..I got a lot of referrals saying she is great). She has 10 years experience with head bands (she used to work for CT with the DOC bands but now works with Star Bands) so I could not ask for anyone better outside CT Miami. They do the Scan at the hospital to capture the baby's head shape and should be wearing his helmet by mid- July (I hope)...I'ts a little bit of a compromise as I am certain that DOC bands work great but as we all know...one of the most crucial success factors is the OT. My husband is a Laser engineer so he thinks this system is quite accurate and we won't put thru the casting...since he was in the NICU for 3 days and had to be placed under the UV lights with a band over his eyes...ever since he cannot stand ANYTHING over his eyes (even wearing the helmet may be an issue)...so we feel this is a good option. Good luck and we'll be taking/posting more documental photos. It's hard to see the plagio in the photos I posted (he was 2 1/2 weeks) but I can see a little of it and his neck always turning to the right...I truly wish someone had warned me about this...don't you hate it to know this could have been prevented to a degree? Thanks Schoelzel mom of (4 months old with mod to severe plagio going for a ScanLaser Star Band next week!)
