Guest guest
My ortho asked me to stop in for a checkup about 1 week after surgery. Strictly speaking, today is the 1-week mark. I'm scheduled to see him Thursday. Rhonda > I am having lower surgery on june 20th, and my ortho asked me to ask > the surgeon how long after til he can see me again. > The surgeon said 2 weeks! this seems early to me! what is everyone > elses experience? > > thanks > > jaimi

Guest guest
I was about 8 weeks postop before tweaking could be done, but that was after both upper and lower ... not sure if that makes a difference. Guest guest
My surgeon & othro agree'd on 2 weeks. The Ortho looked a bit, and that was it, no adjustments or anything (which was nice since I was still sore and swollen). It wasn't until about 6-7 weeks later that he started to adjust things and yesterday I was week 9 and I have a new wire and elastics have been re-arranged. Since me surgery I have been to him about 3 times as he likes to check my prgress. in Alberta > > I am having lower surgery on june 20th, and my ortho asked me to > ask > > the surgeon how long after til he can see me again. > > The surgeon said 2 weeks! this seems early to me! what is everyone > > elses experience? > > > > thanks > > > > jaimi

Guest guest
I'm sure he'll want to see you, but I doubt he'll begin moving teeth yet. The first week, my orthodontist just looked, made sure things were lined up as he wanted. Oh yeah, he also switched me to tighter bands.
