Guest guest
Egroups, If you are mad or stressed, what things help relieve you? In the past, when I'm mad, stressed or whatever, I'd take a hot bath or exercise. But now that I have rosacea, I can't do those things anymore because they make my face really red. I remembered that previously, some of you suggested to me to listen music. I forgot to mention to you guys that I'm deaf. I was born deaf. What other things help relieve your stress or anger besides listening to music?? I can't do yoga because it is related with music. I'd glad to hear your suggestions! Thanks. Guest guest
Actually, I've tried yoga before, and there was no music involved. Unfortunately, though, there is a lot of bending over and hanging your head upside-down, which causes me to flush. I've also tried meditation and that helps me relax. Have you considered aromatherapy? There is a strong link between smell and emotions. > Egroups, > > If you are mad or stressed, what things > help relieve you? Guest guest
Amber there are a lot of things you can do to relieve your stress. A walk, good book, funny movie, good company. Candles are always a good thing. You dont have to take a hot bath but a nice relaxing bath with some nice smelling bath oil or bubbles is nice. Hope this helps. Guest guest
amber- can't you still feel the beat of the calming music? i have a couple friends that are deaf and they go out dancing, etc... they say that they can feel the beat of the music even though they don't actually hear it. yes, one was born deaf and the other became deaf from an illness when he was about 14 yrs. old. would the vibration be a type of micro-mini-massage? good luck! syd
Guest guest
Amber, I practice yoga and have never used music. I highly recommend it for stress relief. Buy " Yoga for Dummies " . It's actually an excellent introduction. It includes some short routines for beginners. Don't worry about the inverted poses. If they make you very red, don't do them, or don't stay in them for very long. Most beginner routines would not have a lot of inverted poses anyway. The book will also give modified versions of the poses that are easier for beginners, so you can adjust your workout according to your ability. Give it a try - I bet you'll feel great! Just 20 minutes of yoga can really make a difference in your mental outlook all day. > Egroups, > > If you are mad or stressed, what things > help relieve you? Guest guest
In addition to all these great suggestions you've been getting, I use epsom salts in my bath at night along with & Lavender/Chamomile Baby Wash. The epsom salts relax the muscles. Also, the lavender in the baby wash smells so good that it relaxes me. Both are relatively inexpensive ($1.99 for a gallon of epsom salts and $3.79 for 9 ounces of the baby wash) and available in drugstores. Lastly, you can do a few yoga poses that will relax you and not give you flares. ONe of them is the child pose. Take care! Matija > Amber there are a lot of things you can do to relieve your stress.
