, the right side of my tongue is completely numb since my

surgery 3 months ago. When I think back, I realize that my tongue

would also get a bit numb or tingly when I'd get shots of novocaine

during dental work. Then when the novocaine would wear off I'd get a

pretty horrible taste of it lingering on my tongue.

Is this pretty common for novocaine injections? The numbness from

surgery has me wondering now if the nerve for my tongue is in an

unusual location, closer to the nerve for my lower jaw than it should

be. My surgeon is baffled as to why my tongue would be numb, as he

says he was nowhere near that nerve.
