Guest guest
Good site Deborah! One of these days I'll have a play with Dreamweaver:-))))) Love Chris Re: Theme Day - My Hobby I started on Front Page several years ago, and switched to Dreamweaver about 2 years ago, I think. I like it MUCH better. You are correct, Front Page does change the coding, whether you want it to or not. Dreamweaver does include some good CSS tools, too. Since you can see the html and the WYSIWYG interface at the same time, it makes cleaning up the code easier, too. It'll check your code against W3C standards pretty well, and convert a page to XHTML with a click. I'd guess that there are some pretty good free programs out there, too, but I haven't checked lately.Deborahhttp://www.wvu.edu/~oiss is my website at work wrote:> I understand Dreamweaver doesn't alter the code like Front Page does, > although having said that, I'm used to Front Page too, and can work > quite happily with it (it helped doing an html course too) but I like > the idea of cascading style sheets that Dreamweaver involves as well, > so I'm told. Guest guest
I honestly don't remember... I'll have to dig through my disks and see if I saved a copy.. I've wiped the hard drive since I last used it so I could install it again for another 30 day trial... If I can find it. I'll shoot off a copy to you so you can give it a trial too.... Keep in mind that when the trial ends you'll not be able to access whatever you created unless you buy the user license.... so it's mostly just to see if you like how it works, you don't get to go publishing a site and expect to be able to maintain it on the trial.... My first taste of Front Page was a trial disk. I still have that one... I'm not sure how long that trial is good for though.... Guest guest
I most likely won't be digging for it until next week... my CDs need to be straightened up again so that will be a good time to do both, look for that disk and get everything organized again. Normally, I'm OCD a bit with this, I prefer to just reach to the shelf and grab the disk from the spot it's supposed to be, not have to look through every thing... but with the heat and my lack of ambition during this bad stretch I've not been putting stuff away as I should... I have three stacks of disks sitting here from this summer's projects with my machines and a couple of clients and it's just a mess.... I hate that.... I may have clutter to climb over on the floor at times, but I want my 'tools' where I can find them quickly... Hey.. that's actually kinda on topic... when I was really bad with hypo I found that if I wanted to work on something, be it cooking or computers or laundry, if I had to go find something or couldn't do it right with what I had on hand I found myself not doing it at all... I'd throw my hands up in the air and say **(*(* it. So I got into a habit of putting anything 'tool' in it's own spot so I could always find what I needed, when I needed it.... I need to reconfirm that habit, it makes life a LOT easier, less effort. Having said that, I have a catalog program that I'm gonna set up one day to catalog all my software so I can easily look it up and find which disk it's on!!!! hehehehe Topper () On Tue, 6 Sep 2005 18:18:17 +0100 "" writes: Yes, I think when I get my brain back, I'd like to have a go LOL!
