getting new Hanger Band - but had regression

We just got back from the Ortho and they are ordering a new band for

after my complaints about the fit. I am glad of this but

disappointed to find out that the scan from today showed he had

regressed almost back to where he had started. A month ago his scan

showed a 3mm improvement and now we are back to square one. I asked

why this would happen and the ortho said that because he'd had the

band off for 6 days (and off-and-on quite a bit in the past few

weeks because of rashes), the head seemed to have fallen back into

the same old growth pattern. I thought this was weird considering

that he has been sleeping on his stomach for the duration the band

has been off and has been off his back almost entirely. It makes me

wonder if it was not the band that caused the regression...athough I

guess that does not make sense since the band seemed to cause an

initial correction.

Any thoughts?
