Guest guest
Hi . I wanted you to know that I also repositioned my daughter Brielle with success. We started when she was four months old when we realized what was going on and she was diagnosed with mild torticollis. She had left side plagio. We started physical therapy and cranial sacral therapy right away. I was not as aggressive with repositioning as some are here. I did allow her to play on her back just kept her in midline or put toys on the right side. I knew it was important for her motorically to play with those feet and reach for things. At night, she slept in the bassinet next to me on her side (right side down) between two positioners. She did turn on to her back several times, but we kept putting her back on her side. She she went to her crib around 5 1/2 months and could roll both ways, we began belly sleeping, which scared the heck out of me, but she preferred this and still does. I have a video monitor that I keep close tabs on her. During the day, I held her in the frontal carrier, put her in the bumbo and exersaucer (when old enough) and did lots and lots of tummy time. She is now 9 mos and we were discharged from PT in Sept. just monitoring if needed. She is crawling and pulling up on things and the tilt has not resurfaced, Praise God! We still do cranial sacral therapy monthly. Cranial tech. when she was 4 mos measured her at 7mm cranial vault, 3mm eyes and 5 ears, they wanted to band her. All the specialists (neurosurgeon, cranial facial specialist, PT, ped. and CST) felt she was mild and recommended no band. The ped. gave us a script and letter anyway, told us it was up to us and I got insurance approval and a casting appt. for the beginning of July. But the end of June, I was happy with how she looked and decided no band. If she was severe I would have done it. She looks great now, you can check her out under Brielle B under plagio kids. I am very happy with our decision, but I was a nutcase through it all, very stressed. Good luck, sorry so long, Debbie and Brielle (9mos repositioned, NJ) > > > > > > Christy, > > > > > > > > I am interested in information about using repositioning to treat > mild forms of Plagiocephaly.
