Guest guest
- LoL, yea it seems to be shutting down a lot today since friends, family, AND a lotta people on the message board have been visiting. Just check back later on (best time to look at it is overnight if you're up late!!!) As for the tubing, it was all explained to me beforehand what I would look like right out of surgery... just to know what to expect and all. I'm sure you're doctor will explain it to you as well, but I'll give it a shot too. Lemme tell you, it really helped knowing ahead of time what to expect because I was well prepared for those pictures! (I didn't look in the mirror the first 2 days, except once briefly and that was an accident lol). You're right on the money - they were used for draining. There were four tubes total, filling up four separate viles. I THINK I had four because I was cut in four different places: (upper, lower, and genio requires two cuts in the back, the upper lip crease and one in the lower lip crease. But those tubes were only in for the first day. On the second day, they were all removed and my mouth was given a nice clean rinse by my doctor's resident who I LOVE!!! Anyway... any more questions at all, feel free to post 'em or email me =) Beckie P.S. - " eating " hasnt been TOO bad yet! lol.. the first 4 days or so I only had ginger ale, so I lost about 5 lbs right away. But now, I definitely " eat " a normal amount. For breakfast I'll have pureed oatmeal or cream of wheat. Another great idea is Carnation Instant Breakfast or a yogurt drink. Lunch and dinner have mostly been pureed soups and things like that - great ideas for this would be lean cuisines (believe it or not, the one i tried liquified nicely and tasted like SOUP!), potato broccoli and cheese soup, etc. As for snacks throughout the day, since your stomach will def. be rumbling... milkshakes and flavored protein shakes or fruit smoothies are GREAT! anyway, thats about all I can think of for now... ttys =)
