Re: question

Hi,

For me, in order to be consistant with my multiple testings, I

followed the steps that my first endo recommended...

Fast for 12 hours, water is allowed, no coffee, tea allowed. Hold the

pills until after the draw.

Then have the blood drawn roughly the same time of day...for me it

was/is always around 8am..as I worked swing shift at the time.

Not everyone agrees with the fast, not everyone agrees with having

the blood drawn at the same time...however for me, it works and the

tests are always run under the bodies similar conditions.

Hi Tammy,

" Or maybe he is just becoming more sensitive. "

After celiacs have become used to the GF diet, then, secondary food

allergies/sensitivities can start causing discomfort. Passing gas

could be from a food he isn't digesting properly for any reason...

You can always keep a Food/Symptom Diary to keep track of the foods

he eats, times he eats them, and any form of reaction he might have.

After about 2 weeks, or so, review when his problems have been and

what foods he ate 20 minutes before, 1 hour before, 2 hours, 6

hours...up to even 5 days before. This has helped me greatly in

finding out more allergies in my family (2 boys). One boy has an egg

allergy that constipates him for 5 days! It was quite a bit of

detective work to figure that one out!! --We had a blood test and

he tested so low the doctor said it wasn't enough to worry about, but

since it stops him up for 5 days at a time, I don't really trust the

doctor's ideas! The other boy has a similar reaction to olives. --

And, we found thru time and journaling, that my husband's carpal

tunnel only acts up after he's eaten pork...

So, I'm saying that gluten isn't the only problem food out there, you

just have to find out your son's (and families) other food

sensitivities. But, it looks like you are on the right track! This

group is very helpful, and you are being a good Mommy! ;-)

Good luck!

Connie

Hi Tammy,

My 7 year old was diagnosed 2 years ago with celiac. She went GF and the

belly aches stopped for 6 months. Then started again, but no stomach flu.

I realized my flour was contaminated ( I bought from bulk bins not realizing

I shouldn't.) When I got new flour, it was fine. then again a year later

the belly aches started up. We took her off cow's milk, and now she's been

fine again. I would suggest looking to see if he has other sensitivities.
