Guest guest
ok, you say it 'sometimes' wakes you up! Not to burst your bubble, but, there are levels of itching that interrupt your sleep...all the time. Other meds to try is: Atarax (hydroxyzine) Benadryl Zofran Docipin These are the others I have been on. Naltrexone helps me for about a week and then my itching comes back. It does space you out some, so I can only take at night. Baudoux-Northrup __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi Tim I suffer from prutitis too, and at the moment am taking 150mg Naltrexone and 25mg Amyltriptolene [an tricyclic antidepressant which has been prescribed for me to run alongside the naltrexone to help the itching]. The side effects I find from Naltrexone are that it can cause insomnia and decreases my appetite [every cloud....ha ha!!]. The other stuff gives me a dry mouth and constipation!! However, all of the above are preferable to the intense itching as I am sure you will agree. I hope this helps. In the meantime, whereabouts in the UK are you? I am in Northamptonshire. Guest guest
:Hi Kym I am down the road from you in Beds. I am sorry to see you are a relative newbie. I was diagnosed in 01 and I think will probably get listed soon. I had rifampicin which has worked wonders for years butr seems to be wearing off. I see my doc next week so will ask him. How r u health wise? I think if u want to email me you can but I'm not quite sure how. The last thing I need to do is loose weight. I used to be 17stone but am now just over 12 (I am just under 6 1/2 foot). So perhaps I'll stay on what i am on! Its nice to hear from somebody relatively local. I hope u r reasonably aok. Guest guest
Hi Tim I am originally from Aylesbury, which would be even more local to you! Which hospital are you at? I am at the Radcliffe in Oxford. Sorry to hear you are nearing the listing stage, so soon after diagnosis too. What symptoms did you have when you were diagnosed? My health is Ok thanks - as long as I keep the itching under control. I suffer a little from fatigue - but then that could be down to being a working mum - so who knows?!! Take care - and good luck with your next visit to the docs. Kym x
