Hi Jeff and everyone,

I just joined the group last week and wanted to introduce myself and give

an update for the list. I have enjoyed reading the e-mail and many

questions I had were answered. I am from Fitchburg MA. I had my surgery

July 17 with Dr. Thayer. At my one week check up I had lost 12 pounds. I

just read the updated list for the week and I'm amazed at all the weight

people have loss. Great Job. I hope things continue to go well for me. I

expected to be feeling a lot worse than I do this early after the

surgery. I've stuck to the liquid blended diet. Partly because I am so

scared to do anything but that and maybe that is a good thing. I have a

little fear for solid foods after reading about someone having to get

dilated.

You can update me as follows:

K./ Waltham/ Mun/ July 11, 2001/ ?

(I've weighed myself, but I don't trust my scale...I'll update after I

get " officially " weighed on Tues...I believe it's around 22 lbs so far).

I have made all the changes to Don's list that have been requested, along with

those that have emailed me privately. GREAT GOING EVERYONE!!! I think each and

every one of us should be proud for the choice we've made to do this, and the

results that we are having. Of course there have been some complications along

the way...but it is that way with knee surgery or having wisdom teeth out (I had

all 4 of mine out years ago...hmmmm...maybe that's part of my problem????).

Anyway...I just wanted to commend each and every one of you that have made this

vital change in your lives...and to give credit to those that are considering,

or waiting for their surgery. BRAVO!

Stay safe everyone. :-)

Congratulations Donna and nice to meet you. I know that I was scared to

move away from just liquids once I managed to fit in formula, juice tea and

broth. it felt comfortable. Dialations don't happen all that often so just

start solids slowly. It will take a loooong time to eat sugar free jello

but it slids down nicely. The day I had a teaspoon of ricotta

cheese...nirvana! This list will give you lots of tips, just listen to your

" pouch " and stop when you " feel " full. Take care Priscilla

Hi Kim,

Yes, I am Joanie's friend. How are you doing? Did I read that you lost 22

pounds at your first week check up? That is awesome. You beat me by far!
