Hey ,

Yeah, I know I'm not one of the newbie goatsmilk soap makers - but I am

fairly new at making the goatsmilk soap. Now, I have used cows milk and did

the pasteurizing thing with that.

I have learned - from the lists several different approaches for doing the

milk soap.

1. Pour the lye directly into the slushy milk (as in frozen slushy, :) -

VERY slowly though - because you don't want it to heat up and burn the milk

- turn orange!! Bright yellow, from what I understand, is okay.

2. Do half water and half milk. Pouring the lye into the water and then the

milk later before adding to the oils.

3. Half milk and half water - however in this method you pour the lye into

the water - cool then mix with the oils and stir until trace (light) THEN

add the milk.

I have done my soaps all three ways - and I must say the last method is VERY

nice, however, because I have used the milk only in my " scrubbie " soaps, it

is hard to say how " smooth " it is. I want to try just a straight scented

goatsmilk soap without all the " stuff " in it.
