Thanks . I am no doubt addicted and know some day I'm going to have to

address it and go to healthier options. I have a lot of pain issues, though.

Not mercury related - TMJ from structural problems that are being addressed but

very aggravated at the time and will be for a while along with a pretty beat up

low back from an accident. Don't see real improvement in sight there -

although staying in shape helps. I just worked out so am working on that. But

it takes pain medicine to be able to even work out. I'm a mess. Jeanie

I don't know about Ambien - I think it is not supposed to be

addictive. However, Dalmane is a benzodiazapine. These

are all very addictive, and I speak from experience. When

I was seeing a psychiatrist, she kept having me increase

the dose of Klonopin (another benzo) and I got really addicted

to it, and my sleep just got worse and worse (I just couldn't

take enough to get the benefit anymore).

Since going off it I have found much better solutions and I

sleep so much better than I *ever* did on the Klonopin (which

did make me sleepy when I first started taking it, but it was

never a restful sleep). For me, 5HTP, some homeopathic stuff,

and lots of magnesium have done wonders. I used to take

phos. serine when I had high cortisol at night - this helped

a lot, too (but will hurt if you have low cortisol).

Of course, there was a difficult period when I went off it,

but for me it was worth it to get to where I am now.

I imagine you're not going to be keen on this idea, but it

might be worth thinking about long-term.
