Guest guest
- Don't know about using the TOT Collar with the band - we're just starting to look into banding Teagan. We only use the TOT Collar when she plays in her exersaucer, which isn't all that much time. Maybe a total of 1 hour a day, if that. She sort of needs to be in the upright sitting/standing position to work on that type of strength. Our PT said she couldn't use the TOT Collar until she had sufficient range of motion and the ability to lift her head laterally. Since she could do it, but wouldn't (she lacked sufficient strength to maintain an inline position) she was a good candidate for it. The TOT Collar isn't designed to hold the head in the correct position. By applying an uncomfortable pressure if the child " leans " against the collar, the child is encouraged to maintain a correct, midline position. The strength and habit are then formed. Basically, it's active strengthening. No stretching or anything like that. It's not the complete solution, but has been an excellent addition to the torticollis treatment regime for us. Good luck!
