Guest guest
I recently found some mixing bowls and large saute pans that have handles on both sides - they are wonderful, as I am losing most of my hand strength. I don't know where you are located, but if there is a Lechter's Kitchen Supply Store near you, they have great gadgets to help out too - large, soft handled knives and peelers along with those great bowls and pans - a real Godsend. Good luck - and oh, by the way, can you email me a cheesecake??
Guest guest
Ken, Sorry but I do not know of any " magic bullet " for the soft tissue pain. I am on MTX, Celebrex, Arava and of course folic acid. This combo has made me feel much better over the past 6-9 months. However, like you I get in situations that make it impossible to really do anything using the muscles and tendons. I just flat give up or at least try and be very careful at what I start to do so that I have a chance to finish what ever it is. The hard part is learning what you can and cannot do and then accepting that fact. I helped some folks push a table and move a few chairs Saturday at a meeting about disabilities, felt like I could help out. In less than an hour I started to hurt in lower legs, ankles and upper back. It was more of the tissue than the joints, that burning and stinging type pain. Then the fatigue started to creep in. I went home and slept for a few hours, got up and discovered that I could not walk well and the muscles in the forearm were also painful. I took a couple of extra strength Tylenol which helped a little. My rheumy said that I could use Tylenol as long as it was not everyday. I use it only when the pain is worse than usual. He has given me Tylenol with codeine, but I really try and stay away from that, although I have used it when the pain days start to add up to weeks. Don't know what else might work, but for now that is what I do. Hope this helps. Hang in there.....Bob
Guest guest
Hi group, My daughter has worn a doc band for a week now. She's 10 months old, and has mild torticollis and plagiocephaly. She has adapted well to wearing the band. I have some concern, however.... she seems to be developing a ridge or bump on her head. To describe where; she has some forehead bossing on the right side, and so the doc band comes up a little farther on that side than on the other. The ridge is in the middle of her head, just above the forehead, where the doc band ends. The clinician at the Phoenix CT said during our appointment last week that it's nothing to worry about... that it is just soft tissue(?). She said the same thing can happen on the side of the band where the velcro is. It feels hard to me.... Has anyone else noticed this with their child? I just want to be sure all is progressing as it should. Thank you for your help, , Mom to Olivia 10 months old, torticollis and plagiocephaly

Guest guest
,Yes my son developed that same thing on the side where the velcro is. They did say it was soft tissue and that it should go away after he graduated, and it has. I also thought that it felt hard, but it did fade.LacyWaydon 1 yearDOC Gradhttp://waydonsnoodle.com>> Hi group,> > My daughter has worn a doc band for a week now. Guest guest
, My son had the same thing but by the velcro. I thought it seemed hard and I remember being concerned. It did go away shortly after graduating. Mom to Dane 4 yo (DOC Grad) and Cece 10 mo (DOC 9/05)

Guest guest
, This can happen and it is a fluid buildup in the soft tissue, nothing harmful and definitely goes away after the band is off. It will even go away on it's own sometimes before the band is off. I had thid in different areas with Dom in all three bands, but there is no trace of anything now that he is band free.
