Guest guest
i am not taking any meds that would prevent me from donating blood and it is ok with fibro/cfs. are there any effects of donating blood with fibro/cfs? maybe something to do with the blood loss and replenishing of blood? if anyone has donated blood with fibro/cfs, please share your opinion. thanks. Guest guest
<< I don't really see a problem with donating blood or plasma, as long as you're free from any of the factors that prohibit donation, or have a history of anemia or something like that. I got a tattoo 3 mos ago, and I can't donate for a year! But I donated a pint 6 months ago, and it didn't affect me perceptibly. Or at least, well, I felt like I was doing something good, and it balanced out -- I was already feeling cruddy all the time, and donating didn't seem to make me worse. Best, Em >> I donated and I felt fine. In fact, I donated twice. And I'm hypoglycemic, also. I say, go for it. Nothing heals better than helping others. P.S. I think tattoos and piercings have to be 6 mos or less. Peace! < lll }:*>~ < lll " My name is peace This is my hour Can I get just a little bit of power? Guest guest
> I don't really see a problem with donating blood or plasma, as long as > you're free from any of the factors that prohibit donation I had read *years* ago that people with CFS shouldn't donate blood because scientists still aren't sure how this disease is transmitted, and if it *is* a retrovirus like HIV it will be in the donated blood, thereby giving the person receiving the blood CFS. Has this way of thinking changed?
Guest guest
They tell me that I can't give blood because I have Multiple Sclerosis! That has nothing do to with the blood!? It's a shame too, I have O positive blood. I guess the rules may vary from state to state, I dunno, but in Texas it's definitely a year for tattoos. Not sure about piercings, but I'd imagine it's the same.
